I wonder why 5GT is priced so damn high. To me, that car is a failure. It was unnecessary not selling, if anyone wanted an SUV with Sedan'ish look, they'll go for X6.

Things I dont like and most would agree with me:
LEDs as daytime running lights. Angel eyes are enough as daytime running lamps. Plus it is "signature lights" from BMW. Don't mess it up.
Display in center concel is pop-up style, don't look good, it looks like after market add on style.
Rear Lights should not come too much on to side panels. Audi's real lights are great desing. It should only be in rear, LITTLE on side.

Everything else is good to me.

Funny, I have owned both Audi and BMW, currently in an E89. I had a TT roadster for the Bauhaus beauty but couldn't live with the brake squeal and bad suspension. Before that, I switched from an A4 to an E92.

That being said, I have to say that if I ever needed space for 4 tall people, I would get the BMW because of the engineering. Looks-wise, the A7 is a work if art. From the back, it looks like a sports car, not a finessed sedan like the CLS and GC. Am I the only one who likes the A7's ass?

I hate how big all three cars are. At what point does owning one of these just becomes having a status symbol? When's the last time any of you ever had 3-4 passengers?

For my $100k, I'd get a Cayman S and save the rest for cab rides when my friends and I need to get places in Chicago.

I may be the minority here but I prefer the look of the Audi, the BMW looks too "Bangle"....

I have owned 2 bimmers and am buying another one in a few weeks, and never own an audi. i have driven an A4, and seen an A7 every morning at work. Let me tell you my unbiased opinion:

1. Audi interior does look very nice, and certainly nicer than E92 and E60. However, the build quality is not as good. When I touch the plastic knob and switch, it's more flimsy. You can sort of feel it's not tightly fixed on the dashboard. It's of course NOT flimsy in any regard, and leap and bound above Honda or Toyota. I simply say, it's slightly less "quality" as the buttons on BMW. I really like the tactile feedback of BMW buttons. But the layout wise, Audi seems prettier than E90s.

2. I really like the F10 layout however, so I think F10 which is the same layout as GC, is actually better than Audi's slightly. The interior build quality (leather, seat, dashboard trim), GC is also a notch above A7. But I will give them a score of TIE, because GC is $20k more expensive, so you do expect such bump in quality.

3. I really like the exterior of A7. I usually have to walk past a few dozens car on my way to my building, but whenever I walk by that white A7, I simply stopped. Once I even walked back to admire it. I am not kidding, the rear looks really really awesome from the back. Fine, maybe you hate the Panamera look, so again this is subjective, but I actually really like it. I think its 3/4 rear and side view are its strongest point.

4. While the side/rear Audi is better, I think the front is a tie. I don't really like the tear drop light of A7. It looks too "angry." I like the elegant look of GC. However, GC exterior also seems a bit 5 and 7 ish. I think you all can agree that, while exterior A7 is so strikingly different than A4, A6, or A8, Grand Coupe is of less difference than an F10. Therefore, I thought A7 has a more fresh look, and really is a head turner on the road.

Overall, I think A7 has slightly better exterior while GC has much better interior and refinement.

You must remember though GC is $20k more than an A7.

FYI: the lower LED's are fog lights exclusively and can function independently. Many folks seem to think they are DRL's which they are not..

I actually like the Audi A7 exterior design. The GC looks nice as well but too sedan like. Even the CLS has a more swoopy design.

It is unfair to compare a base A7 interior to a BMW Individual interior.
At least look at the upcoming S7 to get a feel for an upgraded Audi interior:

I share Lux opinion. A7 is just drop dead gorgeous, lines are fluid and contribute to the magnificent design.

Design in/out speaking, my vote for the A7.

Do like the quilted sport seats of the A7 Still steadfast on the 6GC though. Remember there is a full on M-Version in the works. But the S7 with 420hp TTV8 will be nice ride for those who choose that route.

That pop up screen in the middle of the dash just takes away from the looks of the interior, its definitely a deal breaker for me!

I personally like the stealthy look when the screen is folded down, like on the E89

The "thing" about Audi interiors are the seats. The dash and center console have never been anything special, imo. Now, correct me if i'm wrong but aren't the Audi specialty seat designed by Recaro ?
