5GT almost takes it!

Ha ha ha - the 5GT almost wins against the A7
The Gran Coupe is in a different class altogether and (finally) the interior trim once you spec your own BMW Individual options is far better too.

A friend and I were talking about this car, and he made an amusing comment:

Quote:
Have you seen the movie As Good As It Gets? There's a part where this
woman asks Jack Nicholson's character how he writes female characters
so well in his novels. His response: "I think of a man, and then I
take away reason and accountability."

I can't comment on how that would work for writing fictional women,
but I feel like that description is well suited to describe a large
proportion of the car buying public.

Your thought process (and mine):

1. That car makes stupid functional compromises in exchange for small/
nonsensical advantages (if any).
2. The car's looks highlight those compromises.
3. Given 1 and 2, the car is and looks stupid.

Their thought process:

1. Pretty!
2. Want.

The Audi A7 looks great from behind (followed one on the road), but from the side it has some serious hunch back issue

but seriously, the 7 is very sedan, hardly sporty. The 6 is very sporty. I would never buy a 7, I would buy the 6

Other than how the exterior/interior looks, I really don't see the purpose. I think it's one of those things where BMW had to come out with something because Audi and Mercedes does and you can't let those sales go like that.

Assuming the price is on par, if you wanted performance or a cruiser, get a M5. If you wanted something with 4 doors that has luxury, go for a 7.

Has anybody here ever seen the A7 in person?

I was iffy about the fastback shape, until I saw it on the road. Drop-dead gorgeous. Weird, but still works.

The 6 GC is a thing of beauty though. Might be the nicest BMW I've ever seen.

Well... From front, I find Audi a bit sexier and sportier. And gauges in Audi are also bit nicer. Everything else, no question, GC!

The A7 is handsome but will look boring in 1 year.

The GC is much better but the trunk/hatch confusion could have been executed smoother. See the Concept CS.

The GC is the most daring designed production car out of BMW probably post Bangle.

You can keep the 7.

The A7 is a car that, unfortunately, doesn't look better in person and already looks awkward in the first place. It's a hideous car with a beautiful interior.

The 6GC is stunning.

That Audi looks terrible!

WTF is that? A re-badged Panamara?

NEXT!

The BMW is by fare better than the A7, and anyway the A7 is just a rebadged Porsche Panamera...Audi just reuse their platforms between a lot of models instead of developping new one like BMW does
