Does Exhauste Meister take the Base M5 to the level of M5 CP Exhauste Loudness ?
Rephrased Is CP just the valves open or there's more to CP Exhauste than just opening valves? And reason I am asking is it seems that CP cars are getting same results when Exhauste Meister is used!!

Hello soooma... the Exhaust Meister simply opens up the valves, or allows you to have control of the values on the stock BMW exhaust. I will tell you this, the difference in sound is amazing, and most of my friends thought I installed an after market exhaust. The reason I like this compared to going with an aftermarket exhaust route is that I tend to drive on the highway a lot... and have sampled some of the aftermarket systems and have not been satisfied with how loud they are when cruising down the highway. Again, this is all personal preference.

Thank you sir
So was your CP? Or you're referring to a non CP after Exhauste meister?

soooma, the mufflers in the CP exhaust are a little different than the non-CP. There are no baffles in the muffler of the CP exhaust, so there's less sound dampening in there. So the sound is a bit raspier, a little sportier. The Exhaustmeister alone won't make the base stock exhaust sound exactly like the CP exhaust. I would also think it's safe to assume that a CP exhaust with the EM would also be louder than a non-CP exhaust with EM.

Hey Guys... here are pictures of the sound system install. Like I said.. I like my cars to look very stock.. but upgraded at the same time. How the system was set up is a 10 inch sub, with it's own amp, and tapped off one of the rear speakers.

Below is the box in the back trunk

You have to look close in this picture to see the speaker... look close.. what was done is the leather was removed from the insert on the area between the two seats and replaced with speaker cloth...

One of the issues I have had with previous custom sound installs is controlling the custom components through iDrive. So we came up with a very simple solution, I have a knob that directly controls the sub. The stock sound system has not been modified at all... so the seat shakers are still there and working. So this simple knob was installed...

The results.. the sound is amazing!

So that on top of B&O!!
I can't imagine you don't like B&O - I can hardly dial the volume at its highest because of how loud it will be - ARE you still in your 20's. ... Those were the days -

The B&O sound system is very inferior... if you have a good ear.. the B&O system is not worth the money at all. What is lacking on the base system is a little base to bring out the fullness, as the highs and mid's are excellent quality speakers with good clarity. The car does not have any base speakers at all, simple seat shakers which are not really base speakers. Putting a 10 inch sub in will not make your car into a "thump, thump, thump" 20 year old car, rather just bring is a rich full sound...

One of the reasons I chose the B&O system was that, to me, the stock system highs were very harsh. The B&O system is not perfect at all, but I found it superior to the stock system.

Wasn't overly impressed with the HK in the demo I had, HK sounds better in my X but to be fair it wasn't setup to my preference but the acoustics felt different as they would between the 2
