M6 in stickshift?

I've read various online sources that BMW would be releasing the M6 in the US with a 6 speed manual. My lease on my M3 convertible is coming up in a few months and am leaning towards ordering an M6 convertible but only if it can be had with a 6 speed manual. Anyone know if/when BMW will be realeasing the M6 in stick?

Why would you miss out on one of the best features of the car?

I don't get this love affair with manual. Manual is old tech. Do you prefer dial up over fiber? Landlines over cellphones? Postal over emails?

Manual is more involving I guess but seriously that DCT box is awesome.

The sexiest thing about driving my M6 is going absolutely balls out and feeling that transmission slap through the gears. I don't get this love affair with manual trannys. Seems like you'd be better off getting an Lt1 Camaro.

^^^ Yes, exactly right. M6 with MT can be ordered now - mine is scheduled (and with a clutch pedal)

Have you actually driven an F10 M5 with a manual trans?

No. I am sure is a much more exhilarating experience than shifting a Z06, Turbo 997 or a V10 R8. I still don't get it.

Don't know about the Audi or Z06, but I owned a 997 TT with a MT and the F10M5 is a great clutch/gearbox -- much better than my TT car or our 997 C2S. Rumor has it the '14 M6 will have a 7-speed MT ala' the P-cars, essentially the DCT trans with a clutch pedal.
