Very impressed with the experience, I didn't get to drive the car, but still very much worth it.
Here are some pics, color is Frozen Alpina Blue. ----Updated with pics after local delivery. Last edited by dsad1; 11-18-2015 at 03:34 PM.. |

wow.. stunning... Congratulation!
BTW, I had not noticed that B6 has more line on hood than M6 (or 6er)

The vacation just didn't work out this time. We did a family trip to Italy, and I went to munich for the day and came back. Logistics just didn't work with 2 kids and the grandparents. But at least I am somewhat prepared for next time.

I did an Alpina search today on Instagram to see what would come up and while I was scrolling through the pics my car randomly shows up. Looks like it's still in Germany.

Oh, that's a beautiful car.
Pretty close to what I did. I decided I wanted a stick, so no B6, has to be an M6 to get the manual transmission. And frozen is stunning, but I did Tanzanite Blue. But we did drive it around, 1200 miles in 12 days. I handed it off in Hamburg on the afternoon of August 19, and it was loaded onto a ship in Bremerhaven and departed port on August 31. It landed in New Jersey September 17, and I'm told it will be in Chicago on September 26. I can't wait! |

Mine was the Tosca, e.g. The guy in Hamburb at the logistics company at dropoff guessed it would be on a ship at the end of the month, and I could see the Tosca was scheduled for an August 31 departure, so I thought that might be it. Just google Wallenius Wilhemsen and search by ship name or port etc. You can see the planned voyages. Then you can search public sites like marinetraffic.com for ship location and status. Mine went Bremerhaven-Goteborg-Seebrugge-Southampton-Halifax-New Jersey. It was very detailed when in or near port, then the free version cuts out when it's mid-ocean, but that's ok. |

I see at Wallenius Wilhelmsen that the Torino leaves Bremerhaven for New York on 29 Sept, Asian Emperor leaves the 6th, and the Carmen leaves the 13th.
In principle you can search the WW site by VIN, https://www.2wglobal.com/webapps?url...uickSearchPage I'm not sure how current that is. But if I search mine now, it's still in there, showing delivery and customs release dates at port of NY/NJ. |

BTW, about 10 days after I got back from Germany, about 3 weeks after I took delivery, I got a notice in the mail from the vehicle tax authority in Germany (Hauptzollamt München is at the top), saying I owed 29 Euros for the vehicle tax, and they would be drawing that from a Deutsche Bank account in Bavaria in a few days. I speak German, so I could see what it was, so I just scanned a copy and sent it to BMW to make sure it was all handled. They responded immediately saying sure, it's all taken care of. But if you don't speak German, you might wonder what you're supposed to do with the official-looking notice. My first thought before I read it was "Oh, no, a speeding camera got me!" (But you didn't drive it, so you wouldn't go there.)

Last time I ordered a car, not ED, it went on k-line through brunswick to get to texas. My sales guy is on vacation, but there is a k-line ship that leaves today. Hopefully it gets on that.

I've heard that ED cars cannot enter through every port. I thought only Port Hueneme for west coast and NY/NJ could accept ED vehicles. Not sure.

In that case it couldn't be on k-line since they don't make it to NY/NJ. I guess I just need to be patient and wait for the sales guy to come back. I just like having set dates, hate being in limbo.

I just got word that it is going to be on K-Line's Ivory Arrow that leaves on the 30th and gets to Brunswick the 15th. Brunswick does seem to do ED's, might be a new thing though.
