F06 650i or M6?

Hello guys,

I am planning on buying an F06, after hesitating for quite a long time between F13 and F06.
What would you sugget? 650i or M6?

I also have 2 questions:

Is it true that the M6 "Performance Pack" offers 600 PS and no longer 575 PS? (instead of the "normal" M6 with 560 PS)

Does anyone have any idea why the X5M and X6M have 8 speed AT while M5 and M6 still have the 7 speed AT?

I would say M6 for sure and this comment is coming from a guy (me) who have had both of them for the last 4 years.
As far as the new Competition Package for 2016 model M6 it is announced to be 600 Ps (591 HP) the same engine on M5 30 Jahre while the current CP has 575 Ps (567 HP) the same engine the F85/86 X5/6 M has.
According to your second question, the new engine has 10% more torque (553 lb-ft) so I think this is the main reason they don't have M DCT since the current DCT (7DCI700) is rated to 700 NM (502 lb-ft); however there are many threads and discussions about underrating of this torque, but I believe this transmission is not suitable for a 5000+ lb AWD car.

The only reason one would choose a 650i over an M6 is affordability. If that's not a problem, then there's only one choice, really.

That is mostly true, but there are some nice luxury items that you get in the 650 that for some of us are hard to pass up. Moonroof, stop and go ACC, having a park button.

If you want the best performance, obviously the m6. But there are some perks to the 650 as well.

You can't spec the M6 with those? Must be a market related thing, as you can have everything as on the 650i, including the sunroof here.

Yeah, we are limited here. But are you really able to get a park button there? Would have loved to have a park button on the X5M. I figured it couldn't work with the DCT. I know it is such a small thing, but not having it annoys me.

Is this the auto parallel park thing?

No, I mean the button that puts the car in park. Instead of needing to put the parking brake on. This is probably because I grew up with automatics my whole life.

Ah, no. But it engages park as soon as the car is off, why do you need that button?

The warning messages don't help when you open the door and the car is on, but I am scared to leave the car running when it's not in park. That, and the valet drivers sit there for about 5 minutes trying to figure out how to put it in park.

It's not a big deal, just annoys me. Every BMW these days goes into park automatically when the car shuts off, but it's still nice to have the park button for convenience.

This all being said, I am just driving an X5M for a week while my friend is away. I am still waiting for mine to arrive. So chances are a few months from now I won't care at all.

I have a 2015 GC pretty much loaded. I really don't like the seats, but the car is awesome; especially the MSport lines and I just love the steering wheel. I've owned 745i and then 750i and just wanted something more sporty. I did get the best seats offered.

I'm just wondering if I should have gone with a 550i or 535i instead for more comfort. I know it's because it is really a closed convertible, but I'm just blown away at how poor they made these seats for all of the extra $$. They don't even hold me when I take tight corners as well as my 750i.

Does anyone think it would be possible to get 6M seats custom for this car? It appears the seats in the M6 Gran Coupe are a whole new world.

Details aside, I took a 650 because I couldn't afford the M6. By afford, that also means the additional gas and insurance

I'd take that engine and body over a parking button or other detail
