Hey guys,

As the title says I'm going to step away from my M6. I've been waiting for some time now and my 2015 i8 is finally on its way stateside. I had been considering what car to get next for a while, having been in an M6 in one way or another (E63 and F13) for almost 7 years now I felt like I needed a little break and a change of scenery. So yes, I'm going hybrid to see what all the fuzz is about. I think it will be a nice change of pace until the next-gen M6 comes along and I'm ready to go hyper speed again.

Anyways, I'll be putting some stuff up for sale from my car in the next few days. My M Performance Exhaust by Akrapovic with Carbon Fiber tips (refinished to glossy carbon) is up for grabs for $5500 shipped and I'm looking to get $5500 shipped for my ADV1s, 21"ADV5.0 MV2s in Matte Liquid Smoke and I'll be throwing in the H&R springs to whoever buys them. I'll be posting them in the classified section sometime soon but if anyone is interested please go ahead and message me.

Anyways, I'll still be active on this side of the forums. Unfortunately for you guys you won't be rid of my lengthy posts that easy.

It will be interesting to see your mods. To say the wheels are uninspiring is being blatantly obvious.

I really liked your car! Sorry to see you part it out, but I'm sure the i8 is going to look as amazing.

Goodluck buddy.
Hope you enjoy your i8... Something is bothering me about electric or even hybrid cars but it is what it is... in next 10 years there will be only limited gasoline engine out there

I wouldn't count gasoline engines out brother. I know the next M6 is going to be an epic ride we will all really enjoy. I'll be back in one soon God willing.

I chose the style 470 wheels for mine which for my taste are the ones I liked the best from the stock options. Im currently figuring out what wheels to do. Been talking with ADV1 about the possibilities. As far as other mods I'm planning a matte grey wrap to give it a look similar to the Concourse car, and wrapping the silver plastic interior trim in a wrap called 5D Carbon. Springs and spacers are already on order so those will be the first mods. It seems some members on the i8 side of the forums have a very close minded view on modding but I've always felt like no car is "good enough" or "my own" until I make it so.

Manu at Aristo Collection has some nice custom rims for the i8 already done and delivered for Bimmer Fest ... check them out!

www. aristocollectioin.com .. or: http://aristocollection.com/blog/

good luck on the dark side!

Best regards, and look forward to the feedback ... I looked at the i8 .. can't put booster seats in the rear and doors looked plasticy .. all in the name of economy!!!

Cool tech ... see where it goes!

I know my friend. Next Generation of M6 will be a real sport car and we will be waiting for the car. My lease will be ended next year and I need a replacement for 3 years. I am thinking about different cars but so far AMG GTS is on the top of my list.

We all truly need to recognize that the era we are living will soon change and likely will not return. V8 engines with turbos no less will be basically extinct except in the highest end of the world in the near future

I work in the industry and see this trend moving quickly. Let's embrace these engines we've been fortunate enough to experience. The move to lower displacement turbo/hybrid power trains is the next step. Scoop up the power while you can!

SO TRUE!!!

I still miss the ROAR of the BMW 5L V10 from my 2007 M6 with Eisenmann Sport Exhaust and K&N Cold Air Induction ... man that was a crazy sound that would put a shit eating grin on my face every time I pressed on the GO peddle!!!

One of my S63 AMGs had the 6.2L V8 - that also sent music to my ears!

Yes, the smaller displacement with Turbo's are better for fuel economy and provide more power and torque and quicker 0 to 60 ... but they are too muffled on their own!

I hope going catless on my 2016 M6 will solve some of the lack of ROAR.

We may have to simply record the exhilarating sounds and hit re-play on our smart phones over and over as the V10s and Twin Turbo V8s with massaged exhausts become extinct.

Sigh ... the loss of the Roar!!!

The market will find its own level, and as FI is more the norm, we'll see an exhaust note trickle down from the higher end marques.

Aaaaaaahhhhh, so long for now. I'm coming back August 5-8. Let's meet up.
Having thoughts on your wheels if they aren't gone... Don't need more wheels but that's never stopped me before!

Congrats on the i8!
