Give me a Brake
Just got our Jeep Grand Cherokee Brembo brakes done, all four rotors and pads at 25000Kms (15000 miles), that's ridiculous.
Made me wonder what mileage you guys are getting from a set of 650I? Mine is at 32000K. |

Original owner and brakes at 36K on my 2013 650i Coupe. Have had the brake fluid flushed every 2 years.

My 3-series cars would do 50k before brakes were needed. 550xi I never had the opportunity to change (only did 18k miles in that car), and 650xi GC only has 2k in 6 months, so probably will be the same there. But I'll say this - the 650xi GC doesn't have nearly the size brakes it SHOULD. It's quite large and heavy, and while the brakes are adequate, they're not as impressive as I'd expect from BMW.

My first hand 650xi GC 2012 89000 Km or 55000 miles works well with first brakes and rotors. The optical appearence of the disk is perfect. But thin like a french crêpe.

Per my last comment in this thread about 2 years ago, now with about 8k miles on the 650 over my roughly 2 years and 3 months of ownership, the brakes just aren't fantastic on the 6. It's way too heavy for the brakes BMW fitted. It stops fine, but the car would benefit from stronger/bigger brakes.
I'm trying to decide whether I keep the 650 GC for the long haul or replace it. If I keep it, I may look into larger brakes for it.
