Comfort Access - driver side door

It’s seems that my comfort access has stopped working on my driver side door.

Need to place hand within the rear driver side door to Auto Unlock the driver side
Door

Any idea what may cause this ?
And will it be covered by the UK bmw warranty ?

i would try bimmercode coding, turn them all off. and then turn them back on.

Seems to be a fairly common failure from what I’ve read. Luckily I haven’t experienced this yet myself. I believe most people start to have issues with the battery going flat too with the door handle dying.

You can always unplug to connection to the handle until you get a replacement if this begins to happen.

Can confirm. Of my 4 door handles, I don't think any respond to touch for unlock anymore (i.e. have to pull the handle once to unlock, then pull again to open), and touch to lock only works on the 2 driver side handles. And if I don't drive the car for like a week or more I get the battery drain notification when I start it back up. Sucks, but the solution is to replace the door handle(s) affected and that's $$$ so dragging my feet there.

You can buy handles for like $50 online and replace them yourself
