Looks good. Can you send me a PM on who done the wrap and how much it cost? I'm in the UK and i might do the same to my convertible.
Also what's the HR springs like? I'm also considering doing the same. |

Thanks everyone!
H&R springs are perfect for me since its a bit of a drop and a more sporty feeling to the car. Still great for everyday use. Not too extreme and it doesnt affect the adaptive drive at all... More updated pics coming soon

Thanks guys!
I dont wanna throw in any price that I payed because they might differ quiet a bit from company to company and probably even country to country. I guess its best if you check with your local "wrapper"

I have to ask you about some of the planned mods you mentioned. I noticed you we planning on getting spacers mounted to widen the stance, but I can't tell by your after pics if you had the spacers put on yet. Please let me know if you did in fact have the spacers mounted, and if it had any affect on the ride. Also, if you put the spacers on already, please post some close up shots on the stance of the 6'er with the spacers. Thanks in advance. I have also considered having spacers put on my 650i GC to give it a wider stance. I normally go with after market wheels and tires, but I think some spacers would give the M Sport 20's just the look I am trying to achieve. Let me know how the spacers worked for you, or if you decided against them after the lowering springs were installed. Thanks again!!

As for the suspension and steering dynamics being altered due to cosmetic modifications, you made a good point. The 6501 GC is my 5th car I have ever purchased, and this is actually the first car I have not sized up some after market tires for. Maybe I am getting older, lol. The only car I did this mod to, that had the ride affected by the bigger wheels was my Honda Accord But one thing I always liked when I got new "shoes" for my cars was the wider stance and bigger diameter look of the after market wheels. Like you said, it have always been a personal preference of mine... as well as many others on the roads. I wanted to know if the OP had any change to his driving experience after the mounting of the spacers if he actually had it done to his car. I really like the 650 now that I got used to it (after coming out of my X6) adjusting took some time, lol, but I think a wider stance would make the car look, well... just awesome, but like you said, I would not want to take away from the amazing drive this thing has just for aesthetic purposes. So if the OP had any information on this, asking for his feedback was the best way for me to either put the thought on the back burner, or pull the trigger and order some spacers!! Either way, I give all BMW enthusiasts, and all driving enthusiasts as a whole a big thumbs up!!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone
As for the spacers... I did put spacers on already, but only in the rear and only 10mm per side. The visiual effect is not too big as I could have gone for lets say maybe 15 or even 20mm. I am going for wider spacers when I put on my summerwheels which are exactly same dimensions as the ones I have on now. I will probably even go for spacers in the front and see if the handling gets affected by this, because I heard pros and cons for that. For now, the handling feels better than stock, mostly because of the lowering springs I guess. I am not an expert but I doubt that the handling will get worse with spacers in the back which are not "extreme", if anything, they should make the handling a bit better to my understanding, So to sum it up for now: M-Package with H&R springs and H&R 10mm spacers in the back = better (more sporty) handling than stock! I will post more pics when I get the chance!

Lowering your car on stiffer springs will certainly improve "handling" by lowering the center of gravity and reducing body motion - assuming everything is aligned properly. Most likely ride quality is sacrificed in this scenario.
However, spacing your wheels out changes your overall suspension geometry. There will be long term adverse effects on bushings and bearings, not to mention tire wear (if not aligned properly). You also better be sure that the spacers are centered on the hub so as to not negatively affect wheel to axle concentricity and rotational balance. |

New mods:
- M6 carbon-fibre trunkspoiler - BMW Performance exhaust-tips powdercoated in matte black - BMW Performance diffuser in carbon-fibre - OEM sidemarkers in carbon-fibre - OEM frontgrill in carbon-fibre and glossy black - BMW 356 Liquid Black rims Still to come: - engine-tune (maybe AC Schnitzer) - new spacers in the back and front - OEM rear-windows taint I am really happy with the current look of the car but I have to say that for my liking the 20" rims are too small... I´m gonna keep those for this season but might have to upgrade to 21s next season. Professional photoshoot will follow when all mods are completed (app. 1 month to go) Hope you enjoy...
