Or it could be argued would TB have been so good without BB?
Look at how many players have over achieved under him and developed into great players. Do you think TB would have the same career if he was drafted by one of the 6 teams that drafted QBs before he was drafted by the Pats? Jets 49ers Ravens Steelers Saints Browns Maybe with the Steelers he would have put up some decent stats. |

The BB TB argument could go on forever. Personally I think BB has the ability to make ok players great in his system. He has ton it time and time again. The same goes for TB. Part of that is also putting the correct surrounding cast around TB so he can play to his strengths(a pocket passer who is understands and can read defenses).
BB grabs guys at the end of their career and gets great performance out of them for a year or two and knows exactly when to get rid of them. He has done this time and time again. Even plays who are only mediocre on a team and they get released he will scoop them up and suddenly they are a key player in our offense/defense/special teams. Same with letting players go when they have been on the team 8 years(vince wilfork). The second players leave the Patriots they NEVER seem to do that good. Certainly not as good as when they were playing for the pats in the system. I can't think of any coach who has done this as well and as consistently as BB. What the patriots have done is not supposed to be possible under free agency. Period. This is not supposed to be possible or happen. Teams are 'supposed' to get built up but not be able to sustain year after year performance like they have. Most teams have peaks and valleys in their performance. The patriots do not. When all is said and done I think both are going to be considered the GOATs in the NFL since free agency. I don't see anyone would disagree. Some people claim they need to win a SB away from each other to cement them in history and maybe that is the case but I don't buy it. SB wins are hard enough and rare enough that what already has been done is unheard of.

I don't care how great your coach is or your QB it's nearly impossible to have the run that NE has had. Again, I hate the SOBs bc they beat the Bills game in and game out but it's fairly easy to argue each is the best at their position. Now that I got the nice-ies out of the way- Buffalo needs to shock the heck out of them and pull out a win this week!!! |

Think about all the marriages Brady and Bill have saved in New England over their run

Vince Lombardi took a 1-10-1 team and in 2 years had them playing for the NFL Championship. It was his one and only postseason defeat in that title game. After the game Bart Starr said that Lombardi told them that ,,, that would never happen again.
And it didn't. Interesting debate. |

Being a Pats fan since they were terrible, it has been an enjoyable run. But there is a difference in being dominant in the pre free agency era and after in the free agency era. I think we all know how hard it is just to get to the SB and be a legit contender each season. The Pats have done that consistently better then anyone else.
This last SB stung, and I did sense a kink in their armor. Honestly I think it hurt B.B. a bit more then Brady. Some very questionable decisions on the defensive side of the ball. Brady did his part. What is in store for the Pats this off season will be interesting, things have already gotten spicy. But with JM staying the offense will pick up right were it left off. It’s the defense which needs reworking. We shall see. Contenders again? Absolutely! |

Was interesting when the line came out for this SB. It started at 6.. and went down to 4 1/2. If Carson Wentz was playing it would have been a pick. |
