It is just a motorcycle no other endorsements on the DL except that.

This version of the Corvette is intended to be more of a daily/fun car and all rounder. We have yet to see the harder-edged versions that will have more punishing suspension like the GT350. It's also subjective whether you can get a GT350R for "cheaper", since they are usually subject to big dealer mark-ups.
Then go straight GT350, I mentioned the R to cover the vette's sporting nature.

The oil thing varies, so long as it doesn't lunch itself i'd be fine taking the risk.

Chevrolet Cancels Remaining 2021 Corvette Allocations

https://carbuzz.com/news/chevrolet-c...te-allocations

Want one? You'll have to wait until the 2022 model year.

According to the Corvette Action Center, 2021 Corvette production is now officially over. Instead of beginning one last production round this week, the factory will begin building the 2022 model in early September.

A memo just sent to all Chevy dealers states the following: "In order to maintain start of production for the 2022 model year Corvette Stingray in late Q3, and as a result of continued unplanned part shortages not related to the industry-wide semiconductor availability issues, General Motors has had to make an adjustment in the number of Corvette Stingrays available for the 2021 model year. As a result, we are withdrawing our June "Outlook" estimate as published in the most recent allocation guide. We are not planning on canceling any accepted 2021 model year Corvette Stingray orders."

What does this mean for customers who placed orders after the March 26 cut-off but haven't taken delivery yet? They won't get a 2021 Corvette but rather a 2022 model. They'll also have to wait even longer to get their cars. This is an incredibly frustrating situation for GM, the factory, and buyers alike, but the industry has not fully recovered to pre-pandemic normalcy. Dealers have continued to accept orders but they've made it clear to customers the expected delivery time was liable to change.

The good news is that anyone who wants a C8 will get a C8. No significant updates are planned for 2022 so the worst part about this is, again, later than planned driving fun.

Definitely the pick of the colours, there's one like that just down the road from me and I was shocked how much smaller it looks than a C7.

But not the rear end.

I've seen a couple (or the same one) on my commute and the rear end looks so disproportionate to the rest of the car. I know "that's where the engine is" but still. Some cars hide it better than others. I can't say I'm a fan of the new design yet. I still prefer the C7 personally.

So keep in mind I drive a BMW E86 Z4 Coupe, which has the visibility of a tool box... but has great mirrors.

But how do you find it is to drive the C8? If I switch jobs and stop driving 35,000 miles/year, I've considered just getting rid of all my old BMWs and boiling down to just a 'Vette. But it just looks to big and enclosed to drive effectively in traffic. To me, the interior seems too styled (looks great), but is not driver focused. I'm one not used to using driver-aids to drive a car. Call me a naturalist.

I'd be interested in your thoughts.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."

Here she is next to a widebody C7 Grand Sport in the same color. Note, front lift is activated on my C8, so the front is sitting higher than normal.

Aside from the engine, the C8 was designed to fit 2 golf bags in the trunk to keep the old guys happy.

I hear you on not using driver aids... My 135i doesn't have a camera or park distance control, and I get along just fine.

With the ragtop up, my E88 has poor viz with it's small rear glass. Comparing that to the C8, the Vette is easier to drive on congested roadways imo. I do use the video camera rearview mirror (zoom and height adjustable) vs traditional mirror that has to look thru 2 pieces of glass. The camera mirror lets you see a lot more, although it takes some time to get used to. After 1000 miles, I still don't trust the blind spot monitoring yet, but the side mirrors are positioned well and offer a good view.

The interior is actually very driver focused, like a cockpit. Everything is angled towards the driver, including the infotainment screen and infamous "wall" of HVAC buttons. I admit the wall is ugly, but it is highly functional. I do have a few very minor complaints about the interior. Lumbar is not adjustable vertically, only horizontally. The turn signal/wiper stalks feel soft. The wipers are not auto rain sensing... Vette guys don't drive in the rain, the car will melt.

The car is proportionately about perfect to maintain a 50/50 balance. And I think you're way off. Us "old guys" only need space for one set of clubs. It's the young guys trying to impress some young hottie that want space for two......
