Nice, but I like the 580 better since you can turn the head it 180deg both left and right, which you vant on the 430.

I was looking at th 580 ... but the reviews on the 580 where not that good ... The 430ex has had great reviews and I plan on getting another and maybe a 580 and making the 430 my slaves.

Nice, I just picked up the 580 ex II (the reviews I read said to get the 580ex) for $227.

Here's a nice review comparing the two:

I have neither the 580 or the 430. Man do i need a speedlite!

The flash on my 400D is blocked by my 17-40 with lens hood on

430 EX works great. I've used it before and I will probably be getting one of my own.
