Thinking about trading to an applemackbook, black... should I wait till Dec or Jan when I absolutely need a new one? any indication of updates or price drops? Let me know

Doubt any price drops, there have been rumors of a superslim 12" pro coming out soon but thats pure rumor. To be honest wait till the new OS comes out so you dont have to buy it yourself after.

At the moment I wouldn't buy wait for the new OS and then possibly new hardware.

I hate to seem like an Apple basher considering I love them and will be buying one soon. But Apple really sucks in the sense that they release new items within a 1 1/2 years making your items either outdated or just worth less money.

Otherwise they are good and I would just wait a little.

actually it is worse then 1 1/2 years it is about every 6 month to a year.

The only way to beat this, is do what a friend of mind use to do all the time. Knowing when apple releases product which is like clock work and not ever person know this. He would load up his compute with lots of software and extras and sell it a the week or so leading up to new product intro, many times due to the extras he would break even or loose about a 100 of so on it.

This way he always had the latest and product without loosing too much value. But this means every six months or so you getting a new computer and dealing with setting it up all over again.

I just got my Macbook and I love it. Wouldnt choose anything else. I agree with everyone here, wait until the new OS so you get the latest and greatest.

Yes, wait a few months. New OS soon and we´ll surely over the next few weeks hear some more about the slimmer MacBooks which is most probably in the works. Could be as early as November, just a hunch. White is out and Apple needs to get rid of the white MacBook to complete their product line. You won´t regret it.

Personally I chose the white over black. I think its Apple compared to all the black cases out there.

Yes white is nice, but it looks like they´re swapping all their white products for silver alu, just look at the new iMacs and iPods. They´re changing their design language.

Actually, Vista is the anti-Tiger. M$ will spend the next few years trying to figure out how to react to Leopard.

4th quarter is the most recent rumor - refer to the link I posted previously for articles on the subject.
