The 550i is tuned very differently to the 650iGC. However the M5 is tuned as a proper M Sports Car. If you read the article above, they say that from a feel perspective the M6GC felt more tuned towards luxury than sport in comparison with the M5. This is the reason why after an F10 550i, I switched to an F10 M5 instead of an F06 650i. However I am considering the F06 M6, not because it is sportier which it is not, but because it looks sportier.

Really want to take one out for a test drive, I am yet to see a reason for me to get a m6 over a 650, but maybe if I drive it I will get the reasoning behind it. Actually, that's probably the reason I shouldn't test drive it.

I agree 100%, unles they are using british gallons. I can barely get 22mpg combined on my 535

Nope.... Just got my F06 last october! And I am very content with it for the local road conditions...... I have my M3 for more spirited runs......

Well, I just fell in love with the Gran Coupe. At first I decided to get the bottom of the class, the 640, then I decided I wanted xdrive, so I decided to get the 650xi......then, I said, what the hell......since it's my very first BMW and all, why not go all out and get an M6 Gran Coupe. Before making that final decision, I decided to go and test drive a "regular" M6 coupe...........turns out many BMW dealerships rather NOT let you test drive their M6.......but I found one that did in Long Island........I must say, the experience of test driving the M6 Coupe was pretty sweet.........so I decided, screw it....i'm getting an M6.......I ordered it a few weeks ago.......the sales manager tells me that I should have the car by mid to late June, 2013.....I can hardly wait........

I saw a 650 gc and I agree the flatness of the roofline does make the car look sleeker. the front end looked way to long though. overall, I think to have a big car that only comfortably seats 4 and that for all intents and purposes has the same performance as something $20k cheaper doesn't make sense.

Well I will say the M6GC looks are polarizing. It seems people love it or not so much.
I am not so much. Does anyone look at the extra $10k price tag and ask where is it? Or is everyone here leasing? Buying an M car is expensive enough, but at some point dont people begin to ask "Thats alot of effin money for an M5 with a fancy body...." |
