Straight from the mouth of my dealer - there is a big introduction coming from BMW. They have developed a new 7MT to put into the M6 Cab/Coupe starting March production! Insane news and wondering if the M5 will get this as well?

Huge development for the manual lovers! Having the 6 gears in my car I will say that it could use that extra 7!

Where do I sign up, I was very worried that they had gone back on the idea of offering the 6spd for it. DCT sucks at low speeds with its lag and surging and lack of response to throttle input. 7 speeds should allow for 6 tight gears for optimal performance and a tall seventh for better fuel economy than the DCT.

Man if this is true will definately look into the a manual M6.
