Please Post When Your Oil Pump is Repaired
Guys and Gals - I thought I would start a new thread if you could reply when your car's oil pump has been completed. Please give Date and State and any other info that you would like to share with the group.
I know many of us are very anxious and it would be interesting to see the timing of Germany vs East Coast vs West Coast etc. Thanks to Stonehand from PA posted that his M6 was completed today 10/2 and I hope there will be many more to come. Believe he is the first. Thanks |

My ED M6 is Lost!!!
My car is lost. The dealer states that is dropped from their inventory and I spoke to BMW Customer Relations yesterday and they also don't know where the car is. So, my guess is that it is still in Germany or on a ship to the US. My CA states that it is normal for the car to drop off the inventory for a week and then back on. BMW also states that the oil pumps are now being shipped and some dealers already have them. But I must say that BMW is doing everything they can to keep me satisfied.

Sorry. Didn't take it to a dealership. I did the ED and returned the car in Munich for delivery back in the US. The recall was announced on day later. BMW Customer Care and my US dealer cannot track the car on their system. So, its anybody's guess where the car is located right now. Dealer thought that it may show back up on their system in a week. Keeping fingers crossed.

Ok no problem. I'm in germany right now. I was going to "swing by" the dealership if there was a particular one to see if it was just sitting somewhere. I'm sure its prob on a boat and will show up when they scan it upon arrival.

Dealer called yesterday. Got a message from BMW that the part (oil pump) should arrive Monday 10/8. Now only if we could locate the car, we can get it fixed and I'll be on my way.

Dealer called yesterday. Car is on the water and will arrive in Brunswick GA October 29. The oil pump will be replaced in GA before shipping the car to the dealer. ETA is November 7. At least I know where the car is and where the repairs will be done.

FYI. As in our M6, if you did the ED just when the recall was announced, the repair will be done when/where the car gets off the ship. In my case it's Brunswick, GA. This was confirmed by BMW Customer Care and my Dealer. The transportation of the affected vehicles was placed on car movers/trailers and was not started up or driven. Once the repairs are completed, the car will be transported to your dealer or the Delivery Center in SC or wherever you selected.
Hope this helps for those of you who was caught in the middle of the recall during your ED. |

ED M6 was shipped and docked in Brunswick GA on Friday November 2nd. The oil pump replacement was completed in GA and the car should be here in FL this Friday November 9. Took a while after turning in the car in Germany on October 20th.

Had mine fixed at the port here in California and picked it up last week. Loving the car so far, except for a slight rattle coming from the backseat at low speeds.
Good luck to everyone |
