Rogue One

All i can say is wow, honestly the best star wars movie to date for me. I hated episode 7....I give that one 3/10 but this is 10/10. GO SEE it.

Whoever they hired to do this film has really geared it to today. Its right there with saving private ryan for me.

It's really the best I've seen, I'm a huge critic too, the director should get an Oscar

Agree on this being much better than EP7. I loved it!

If you've never seen star wars before, will you get it? My wife migrated from Cuba and hasn't seen them yet.

My friend, you have a rare opportunity. Binge watch episodes 1,2, and 3 this weekend THEN see Rogue 1. After you do this, see episode 4, the original Star Wars.

She will see the first 5 episodes in order, as they stand now. I won't spoil anything but trust me, do this!!

My brother and me saw it this morning, continuing our tradition of seeing the first show on the first day (Thursday openings are new and don't count!) since we were kids.

I am begging you...do it in the order above and let us know what she thinks. My sister has never seen a Star Wars movie and couldn't be less interested.

DO IT!!!

That's why she wont watch star wars. I showed her episode one and it turned her off so bad she didn't want to see another.

My 16 year old son, my wife and I went and saw it on Thursday night.

My wife knows very little about Star Wars, even though I'm the biggest fan and we've been married for 25 years, and she was asking my Son questions about the plot and certain points.

The cracker was when Vader turned up and she said , " I didn't know he'd be in it".

My Son summed up pretty well I think, if you take out the references to Jedi and Vader it could be "just" a war movie. We really enjoyed it though!

In her defense episode 1 is the weakest of the lot.

For the most part I agree.. this movie is easily one of the top 3-4 star wars movies of the entire franchise.. and thats saying alot cause New Hope and ESB were great.
So forget the critical reviews and this one is worth seeing.. I cant believe I am saying this cause I havent said it since ROTJ.
The Darth scene was nearly worth it alone

your son would right, it was honestly a WW2 nazi movie. i thinks that's what made it so good, the characters showed raw emotion and the gravity of what they were doing with the "at all costs mentality". Alot of drama but none of the corniness. with more swearing and blood it easily could be an R movie

I don't know how they could have made it better. I was anti this in the beginning and prequels are cheap storytelling. But it delivered .
I loved the ending, at the end i remembered in the new hope "Great sacrifice was made to obtain this information"

I saw it yesterday as part of a work related function. A partner I work with at my company hosted the movie event. It was pretty cool to watch Rogue One at a cinema draft house. While I didn't partake in any spirits, I did have some lunch.

Anyways, the movie was so good for me that I had to go to the restroom but held out till the end because I didn't want to miss anything. Maybe that was TMI. The movie reminded me of the reboots of two big movie franchises: the recent Batman movies with Christian Bale and Star Trek. I think why people are praising the movie is because of the dark edge which also made the reboot of the Batman series so successful. When you think about it, the war between the Empire/Rebels is war and war is dark and ugly. It was a little bit of a shock of how the Rebels were being portrayed. I won't get into more of it as it'll be a spoiler.

Extacly right, that dark edge was a pleasant surprise. They added real drama, real sacrifice

Yea the corniness was cut way down and tho the critics said there wasnt much character development well theres so much you can do in 2+ hrs with a load of characters each to vett.. I think it was done as well as it could be w/regards to character dev .. tho more would have been better.
