F13 M6 speaker replacement
My driver's side door [large] speaker has stopped working, and I have BMW doing diagnostics on it next week. I imagine this will entail removing the door card/panel which makes me insanely nervous with the extended leather. Has anyone else dealt with this sort of investigation or removed the door card/panel themselves? Any guidance I can give to BMW to not damage the door card/panel or the leather?

I would take some pictures before they do any work on it, I'm sure it's not that tough of a repair though

This thread from the general 6 series forum has some pictures showing the process of replacing speakers:

Got my car back today, and in usual great form of pretty much any BMW UK garage, my door card now has a massive crease in it. Have attached a photo - any opinions on repair? Of course expect BMW to pick up the tab, but I imagine a spot fix will look terrible. Insist on a new door card, do you think? Any recommendations appreciated - thanks.

What a shame they've damaged a perfectly good door card. Without actually naming the BMW garage, I wonder if you can give a rough location so that we in the UK can be sure to avoid that particular establishment!

BMWRog equally gutted, and not at all what I'd expect from a BMW garage - compounded by my M6 being ex-BMW press with just over 8K miles on it. Sadly its been three garages that have been absolute let downs for me recently including this latest experience – once the door card is resolved I'm happy to share the full details and will share a dedicated post for all members, but in the meantime will DM you.
Frankly am at a loss on where to take my cars, that will actually take care of them whilst in for service. Not sure if I have to become that insane person that debriefs on all of my experiences and micromanage how my car is cared for, but perhaps thats the only way. My F80 M3 is due for an oil service in a few weeks, and I've lost confidence in this latest BMW garage where its booked. |

Sorry to hear this..Hopefully they do the right thing and get it sorted for you. These dealers make so much money it's not even funny. |

Thanks danielgmanm6 - fingers crossed too. Completely agree on their mega revenue - charge it all day long, but don't damage cars is my view. If I were a BMW service advisor or technician, I'd take care of every car like it were my own – not like its a Ford Focus hire/rental car. Will keep this thread updated on where I get to with the situation.
