Running temps of oil gauge
I recently got my car back from the BMW dealership with a new firmware flash on the ecu and gearbox etc.. According to them , this may resolve the issue that I am experiencing with my gearbox.
Since I got the car back , I noticed that the running temps are on 105 degrees , previously it never hit 100 degrees unless I gave it a lot of WOT . Can some of the uk members with a degrees C gauge let me know what there normal running temps are please . When I was at the ring in Germany , it never went above 105 degrees and that was several laps around the F1 track . Thanks |

On mine the water temp, as measured by the P3Cars gauge, shows 102C when using Economy or Sport throttle setting, and between 82C and 90C when using Sport Plus. I've not looked at the exact Oil temp as the cluster menu is a bit of a pain to use, but I'd say that when fully warmed up it matches the water temp. So in Economy or Sport it's running a little above the 95C mark and in Sport Plus a little below. All those figures are for relatively light cruising, but it takes a lot to make them go up using the car on the road rather than a track.
