Optioning a 650i Gran Coupe
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I am in the process of optioning out a 650i Gran Coupe to replace my F10 550i M Sport and would appreciate some help from the experts here Seems that for the 6GC, there are a lot less metallic color choices that will make the car look good without going to BMW Individual program. Same goes for the interior. I have the F10 in sophisto gray and oyster black interior and the car looks great! I don't want to go with the launch color Frozen Bronze and Brown/opal white interior. So many people have ordered that combination here already. Gravitating to the following 3. Which one will look great without breaking the bank? 1) Ruby Black exterior, Ivory white interior with American Oak 2) Sapphire Black exterior, Ivory white interior with Piano Black 3) Mineral White exterior, Brown/Black interior with american Oak The second major question is regarding Adaptive drive. For the F10, electric/Dynamic Damper Control requires (in fact is part of) Adaptive Drive. As I understand, Dynamic Damper Control is standard on the 6 Grand Coupe. So what does Adaptive Drive actually add to the car? And does it include the ARS? Many thanks for the help!

I would go with Ruby Black and Vermillion Red interior or Champagne interior.
Regarding Adaptive drive I belive it includes dynamic drive to reduce bodyrolling. |

Spec
I've just taken delivery of a 640d M Sport convertible with Ivory and American Oak, and I have to say I couldn't be happier with that combo. The wood and the leather work really well together, so I'd go with option 1.
Good luck.. |

Thanks guys for the comments. I have decided on Ruby Black exterior and now am thinking the following interior combinations
External : Ruby Black 1) Ivory White with American Oak 2) Cinnamon Brown with Aluminium 3) Cinnamon Brown with American Oak I agree that the Ivory White looks really nice But here in the tropics, it rains a lot and I have 2 children which pretty much guarantees that the beautiful Ivory White will be destroyed in a matter of months Also, may go for contrast stitching on the Cinnamon Brown interior as well..... Regarding adaptive drive, it really baffles me (and my salesperson). In the catalog, it saids that Dynamic Dampers Control are standard to all 6GCs. Yet one cannot customize it unless with Adaptive Drive? And somehow ARS is listed as a separate option in Build your own (BMW UK) Wish somebody in the know can shed some (more) lights on what exactly AD on the 6GC does!

Interior spec
Well I'm sure you've seen 'sneak peek'. The brown with contrast stitching looks fantastic with what looks like American oak, especially against the black. Agree with the kids that's a more sensible option, and for sure it will look great. We have 4 kids and they spend 99% of thier time in the 4x4, so we keep the 6 for special occasions.
What are the roads like in HK. Do you get a chance to give it a blast? |

Roads in Hong Kong are like roads in nyc. May be a tad better conditions but narrower streets. No chance to take the car for a spin yet. I wanted the 650i which is not yet available anyway.

Adaptive Drive is just DDC+ARS, same as F10. So, in a nutshell, the choice is either DDC ($15,800+tax) or AD (which includes DDC, @ $48.1k+tax). The BMWUK configurator lists DDC & AD as separate items, but u'll notice if u choose just DDC then AD won't be selected (u can select it manually, where the price will be adjusted accordingly). If u choose AD then DDC will automatically be selected. BMW have since MY12 offered DDC as a standalone option on F-series cars, so u're no longer forced to get the whole AD package in order to get DDC for some models. |

I am reading off the BMW Canada bulletin (info given to all dealers here) as it says DDC is standard.
Correction on the ARS - it's optional. However, at the end of the bulletin, it says the info is a draft and will change as the next ordering update will be released in late May 2012. |
