I think the 343M's off the M5 have 32 ET front and 34 ET rears. The stock 19" / 20" M-Sport rims for the 6 series are 33 ET front and 44 ET rears. Straying too far from the original off-sets will mean either the wheel will not fit or narrower tyres have to be used.
The 343's in this case are close enough to the originals to make a good fit for the 6er. Plus they are forged so lower unsprung weight too.
