When I slowly press down on the gas and ease into it it doesn't happen, only when I push down fast and it kicks in hard and I hear a thump and then there are no other issues or shifting problems.

its just the noise of the transmission engaging, since you're tapping on the gas lightly but fast, it wants to shift gears, but when u ease of the gas, the transmission disengages. so it's just that engaging and disengaging noise. my f82 and f13 make the same noise when i do that. hope that helps!
