Where does all of this leave the original SAV: the 5 series GT?
The 5GT is a Phenomenal package that previewed a post-bangle refinement in design philosophy, details and one of the best BMW interiors. Many die-hard fans in Asia and Europe among those who actually drove the model rather than just moan its design (same lot bemoaned the f10 over e60 but have now evidently come around...
)
So what's next for the 5 GT
EXPECT THE 3GT AND 1GT will refine the concept further and make the design, space, versatility and luxury more accessible. Perhaps the somewhat superfluous dual tailgate will be dropped to allow a more chiselled rear end.
