Bluetooth setup works fine, contacts are all listed, however email and text do not display at all. Navigation Messages from the BMW app do show up on car though.
Anyone have an identical setup where email and text are recognized/appear? If so, how did you set it up? The BMW link above does not even list iPhone newer than 7. Could it be the 8 is not supported?

My M6 GC used to show texts, never emails. Then it stopped. My dealer told me to un-pair the phone, re-pair it, go into Bluetooth devices on phone, click on the vehicle link, select “show notifications”, turn Bluetooth off in vehicle then back on. I did that a couple times and now texts show up again. It has never showed emails. I have an iPhone X now, before that I think it was a 6 Plus, but I forget whether the 6 Plus worked.
