Just as BMW officially premieres the all new
6-series cabrio at the 2011 NAIAS this week, we are given the best look yet at the production intent 6-series coupe, which up until now has been clad in heavy camouflage. This vermillion red test car shows off styling that resembles the 6-series convertible, yet draws on styling cues from the stunning Concept Gran Coupe. The overly small wheels are only winter wheels/tires for testing purposes and the production wheels will undoubtedly be more stylish and fill out the wheel arches much better.
The model spied here appears to be a 640i or 640d coupe, which should be powered by BMW's inline 6-cylinder turbo N55 motor. The 6-series coupe is expected to enter production in July of this year.
Here is the BMW announced production schedule for the F12 / F13 6-series coupe and convertible:
MY 2012:
March 2011 - 650cv (cabrio)
July 2011 - 650cp (coupe)
September 2011 - 640cp/cv
September 2011 - 650xi cp/cv
