People are wondering how the SL is lighter than the 6 series? How about the fact that it's a 2 seater while the 6 seats 4...? I've seen the two side by side and the 6 is gigantic compared to the SL and they aren't competitors at all.
As someone already said, the Benz and BMW lineups don't always align to produce direct competitors, it is fair to compare the SL and 6 because they-re bought by some of the same people but you have to remember that they've always been different sizes and the 6 can carry four people.
