The tips just come off my twisting it and wiggling it out. When I first installed mine, I wanted a louder sound so I used wire to hold the valves open, which is common practice amongst M5 and M6 owners. It was a bit loud for everyday driving so now I only have the right side valve open and for me, it's perfect, especially with a baby in the back. As you can see in the pic, the muffler shop just welded on a mandrel bent enlarger pipe to connect the 2.5" pipe to the 3" M6 pipe. Next to Remus, these M6 mufflers have been my favorite for less than 1/2 the price of an aftermarket.
