I don't see why it couldn't void at least the electronics warranty. By coding you are essentially overwriting the "software" that originally came from the factory. Every time you install something new, there is a chance (even though slight) of bricking the system. Yes, you are just "enabling" features that could already be there, but you also run the risk of causing issues that would not have been there if you didn't try to change the parameters. I've seen it happen first hand.
