Both source and output is important, if you going to plugin your IPOD, or CD or radio than I doubt it's worth the price.
However if it can play Audio-DVD than it's a different story.
I've got ELS sound package on my RDX and it's sounds pretty good, however if I listen to DVD-A disk it's sounds AMAZING like a being there at the concert, live.
