What's the issue? 4-door coupes get even numbers too. There will be a 4 door 4 series coupe and quite possibly a 4 door 2 series coupe also. It makes perfect sense - well to the extent that calling a car with four doors a coupe makes sense. But you can't blame BMW for that one, they are just staying in the game with Mercedes and others.
By the way, don't count on a 1 series sedan, at least not for the F2x generation.
