M is in a tough position. It has to compete with AMG, Audi RS (or, it seems even S models
if you read/trust C&D), etc. while trying to maintain aconnection with motorsport and it's "classic" customers (low weight, manual gear box, hydraulic steering, etc.).
If M is not profitable, it will not exist. That would be bad. I personally hope BMW sells enough heavy, powerful cars that it is able to throw a bone to us once in a while...like for example, the Z4M coupe or the 1M coupe.
My lineup seems (to me
) the best of modern M cars, but I'm really looking forward to the F80 M3 or (here's hoping) M2.
