Same as dannym, 3 times my iDrive has restarted for no apparent reason. Audio was playing from the USB on all three occasions and stopped playing while the iDrive rebooted, once via memory stick, once from an iPhone 4, once from an iPod Classic.
The car is at the dealers now to see if they can find out why.
