Its a shame. But i know a market still exists if one can pay for it.
I've driven DCT and 6 speed manuals to compare on the M3... there is not comparison. One is an AUTOMATIC, One is a stick. auto is faster because of gearing.
BUt soon BMW will have its own 7 speed manual with rev matching. Should be as fast as 7 speed DCT in theory. On the road, an auto is always faster. But can it downshift from 7th to 3rd when you want it to. Not exactly. Manual is always faster because the computer must downshift where a human moves a gear.
So in the end, manual will never be completely obsolete. But human error dictates manual will die off...
