PM sent .... the ENET Cable & ESYS Software only work for F-Series Chassis ... however for older E-Series Chassis you need an OBD-II to USB Cable w/ EDIABAS & NCS-Expert software. I do not have either of these... however (remove the . ) bmw.coding [dot] com is a good resource ... you should be able to find what you need over there for the X5
