It's not an ediff. An ediff is a proper LSD with electronic control of the clutch pack.
It's brake assistance on a stock non limited slip diff and IMHO it's garbage as most of the time one wheel has to spin considerably before brakes are applied and this takes too long, heats brakes and increases wear. If you're an incredibly inept driver it might help a bit but for most of us actually wanting performance, the stock diff and brake thing is garbage.
If you're going to fit bigger brakes, go get a full LSD too because it will light up the car in terms of handling and make the loss of assisted braking no concern at all.
I'm going full LSD on the Z4 next year. £2k fitted, bargain.
