The 2012 BMW 6 series M Sport package has debuted at the Frankfurt IAA. The M Sport package adds some aggressiveness to the normally (perhaps overly, in our opinion) svelte 6 series with a much beefier front bumper with large air inlets and integrated splitters. The profile of the 6 series gets M sport sideskirts, which resemble the M3 sideskirts and gloss black trim. And the rear receives some aggressive treatment as well with the M sport bumper with contrasting colored diffuser.
To us, the centerpieces of the M sport equipped interior are the beautiful alcantara/leather sports seats - alcantara back and seat and leather headrest and side and leg bolsters, finished off with blue contrast stitching and a small M colored piping. Par for the course, the package also comes with an M Sport steering wheel.
Those of you who have followed our entire coverage (links below), may notice a particular color theme being developed by BMW - the color blue is becoming somewhat of an identifying color for M, M Sport, and M Performance products. The F10 M5 gets blue brakes standard, the F20 M Sport (link below) has blue contrast stitching and blue trim throughout its interior, the new X6 M Performance steering wheel gets a blue center marker, and this 6 series M sport has blue contrast stitching on its seats as well.
