This is potentially exciting news as the RX-8 never exactly captured the magic of the early RX-7s. But of course in this era of green/eco/etc., it's an uphill battle for the rotary engine, whose inherent design consumes fuel, emits lots of fumes, and drinks oil.
I especially loved the FD3S and FC3S, especially the FD, the driving experience and the noise is just sublime. In fact, the noise of any Wankel engine is just simply amazing, and they love to rev, FI or not.
