My commute is about 1/2 city, 1/2 highway, and I usually clock right around 17 mpg (in Sport mode at all times). On a highway trip, it'll run around 22 or so.
When I picked up the dealer was running through the systems, and clicked through the options under teh speedo. When he got to gas mileage, he said, 'You don't want to look at that" and quickly clicked by.
As stated, none of us got this car for its environmental benefits. Of course, I saw a study recently that said the average hybrid pollutes more during its constrution than a car getting 30 mpg does its entire life, so there is that to help you sleep at night if you need it.
