from Bavgruppe today:

" Well, yes. We found out during testing that this is actually normal behavior for the tail lights on your vehicle, and on every vehicle based in the United States, and not a taillight defect. All 6 series turn signals double as brake signals, not sure why not a single owner noticed it but we tested a couple of stock vehicles and they did exactly that.

Now that we know this, we finished the testing on the vehicles and have a second set of plugs being sent to us, they’ll arrive sometime next week, to accommodate owners wishes to turn off that portion of the stock behavior.

We also need to bring a car in to do some testing with ISTA (a coding platform) to see if we can shut off the stock portion of the coding that makes the turn signals turn on, but again, it’s not a defect. We have one of the cars that we use for the initial testing coming in to get a different color set of tail light so we will test the plug on his car and also do the ISTA coding. "

I'm guessing the new harness will delete the brake light function from the turn signal portion. Saga continues ...
