You honestly aren't missing much with the touch controller. I have it on my '14 F30. It allows for alphanumeric searches, but, the reality is that by the time you input the letters/nos, you could have already scrolled the wheel and got to your desired input.
Is it cool, yes. Could it be implemented further and become more useful over time, yes. Are you missing much now, No.
