Full electric or hybrid cars will not save the planet or reduce the pollution. When you drive an electric your are not polluting locally, but the construction of the car generate 1,5 x more pollution and energy consumption that a regular car; then when driving your car, the electricity will be generated by coal or fuel or atomic production...and finally when recycling the electric batteries is more energy and pollution. Automakers are just following a trend
