The car itself is fine, I drove 2 other M6s and they are the same.
Well I checked and my M2 button setup (which I use daily) was on automatic (speed 2 out of 3) and sport plus engine setting. I have since changed it to automatic, speed 3 out of 3. And it is a lot better as it hangs around in lower gears for longer.
My previous car was an SL... 5.5 V8 supercharged, so it did have very instant throttle response. Also it was a much 'lazier' gearbox, so if you were in 3rd or 4th and gave it 30%-50% gas at 30mph-40mph then it would just make use of the torque and accelerate up. I find that the M6 often likes to drop down a gear, which gives it an extra moment to get moving. That in combination with the turbo lag mentioned, I suppose that is what is giving me the problems with feel.
