Yes there does seem to be some availability - as suggested the rear 295's are the most difficult to get.
The advice from the tyre co's seems to be not to go for the larger 305 tyre but stick with the recommended size for these specialist cars - I'm not sure if anyone else has tried upsizing and what the results were?
I am also waiting on BMW Uk Customer service to see if I can get them to so a swap on the basis of safety in the wet at the very least.
Their standard litany of 'we fit our cars with a range of approved tyres etc' has already been trotted out.
