I have tha same problem with my 6wb ( black screen ) after reading your procedure i orderd the LCD and i fix it and it works .
What i did :
1. Remove battery ( negative only ) importent dont close the trunk while the battery off.
2. Remove instrument cluster (YouTube) and open easly.l ( i change the LCD
make sure to press gently the 2 small gauges from the front)
3. return battery back.
