My understanding is that they cannot void the entire car warranty. However they can refuse a claim if they believe your modification caused the failure. So for instance if you have autofold setup on the mirrors, and the mirrors are frozen due to cold weather. They could argue the autofold broke the mirror gears due to the freezing conditions because you should not operate the mirrors in freezing conditions.

On the other hand, coding is so niche most dealers won't be aware that you coded these features. I have taken my car in once and pointed out the coded features to my service manager, and they still thought that the features must have come from the factory and just be a build variation.

Remember all the features enabled by coding already exist in the software, you just flick the switch.

That said, everyone should do their own research and do this at their own risk.

But I am happy to help out fellow forum members for free and teach people to code their own cars.
