The overall diameter of the tire needs to be very close (use this
http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp). That should also help you determine if the 10" wheel will fit, too (be sure to enter the offset).
I run staggered on my 640xi, and I recall them being 20x8.5 and 20x9.0, and 245/35/20 front and 275/30/20.
