When using the online part database sites like bimmercat or realoem.com…make sure that you read the part number index below the diagram for clarification.
Also, when a part is grayed out (like #12 in your diagram) that means that part isn’t used on the vehicle info that you entered. Since there are options and different configurations depending on market…everything illustrated in the diagram may not be used on every vehicle.
When I pull up the diagram for the US market (using my VIN)…item #12 is not listed in the part number index. But when I enter data for a Euro market model similar to mine…#12 shows up in the part database and it is listed for a specific option:
